I really like a program called "Orange CD". It'll catalog your vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and digital audio files. It uses several online tools including Amazon, discogs, CDDB, to auto enter the album. Or you can enter a UPC code and it'll find it.

You can download the full featured program and it will work for 30 days. Then buy it if you like it.

Carl also uses it and can add his $.02.

There's also an app called Discographic for "smart" devices. Looks like a front end app for Discogs that basically does everything the website does. At 2.99 it's not for me, but just sharing it in case it may be helpful to others.

I just use Discogs via a web browser on my phone. Can search value of something before buying or double check if it's something I already own. I've bought doubles of things, sometimes it's an upgrade and sometimes it's a mistake. I also add comments to certain entries on Discogs like: "need an original press" or "noisy, need upgrade" or "track three skips".

I also use the Discogs wantlist to keep a list of things I really want. The daily emails can get expensive
