Phono Ground - Marantz 2225
« on: May 19, 2010, 08:17:59 PM »
This has taken me buy surprise. Where's the ground for the Phono stage on the Marantz 2225?

There's a chassis ground for the 2225 but I'm not seeing a separate ground for the phono...

Thanks,

Lyman

You can use that ground if you're getting hum from your cartridge.  Use the existing ground or run a wire from your turntable chassis to the ground on the back of the 2225.

Thanks. I thought that grounding lug on the back of the receiver was for the Receiver itself, no?

A ground is a ground.  I used it on my 2230 to ground my turntable and the receiver itself when I didn't have a power conditioner.

Yeah, the light finally came on when I thought about it. Albeit dimly, but it did come on  ;D
